Tourists are Those Who Come to Visit

For instance, the tourist store owner, Kesab Hada, simply said that, "tourists are those who come to visit. Either domestic or international. There are many subcategories" (personal interview, 5 May 1999). Or as Sangeeta Chitrakar, a 24-year-old student and artist who often helped out in her family tourism-oriented store said, "A tourist is that person who doesn¹t know about the place. They ask, ŒWhere is it?¹ ŒHow far is it?¹ ŒHow many kilometers?¹ Even people from Kathmandu are tourists who do not know about Bhaktapur" (personal interview, 11 May 1999).
